Increasing Vertical Jump Requires Improving Your Technique
By
Here are a few good steps to increase your vertical jumping:
First, work on your technique. Watch a few videos online of avid jumpers clearing 60 inch jumps. These guys practice and usually have great form. If you follow their lead, you should be getting the best jump possible for your abilities.
Practice effective deep knee bends. This will help build your quads and calves. Start from a standing position, and keeping your back straight, squat down as far as you can go. When you come back up, do so slowly. Add weight to your hands to make it even tougher.
Then practice some vertical jumps. When you crouch to jump, swing your arms down towards the ground firmly, and then use that momentum to get yourself back off the ground. Stand next to a wall and use chalk on your fingers to mark your progress.
Another technique to develop the proper muscles is to run stairs and jump rope. Running stairs is great. Try running more than seven flights straight. Jump steps here and there to get more skill in your leaping.
Try these techniques daily to get the best vertical jump possible.
