Improving Your Vertical Jump Requires Dedication And Hard Work
By
One of the most asked questions in the world of basketball is “How do I increase my vertical jump?” Well, there’s really only one way to improve your skills, and that’s commitment and hard work to a vertical jump exercise routine. You have to be consistent with your vertical jumping work-outs almost daily, and not set yourself back with injuries.
You also have to know what muscles to work out. You can’t just keep jumping to get the best results. It’s important to continue jumping to improve your vertical jump (obviously), but there are other work-out techniques to focus on as well, to get the most out of your exercise and keep yourself from hitting a plateau.
Jumping rope and running stairs are two great ways to help build your vertical jumping muscles. Run multiple flights of stairs, and skip over steps if you can. Make sure you stretch before running stairs, as you can seriously damage yourself if you don’t take precautions.
Do consistent leg work outs, such as deep knee bends, and squats. Keep your back very straight, and try to go as low to the ground as you can. When you come up, do so slowly, and add weights to your exercise to give an extra challenge.
Don’t forget about core exercises. Strengthening your core is key to developing a better vertical jump. Do lots of crunches every day to keep your abs tight.
